Boiling Springs Swimming Pool

Built in 1927, the Boiling Springs Pool is the oldest public pool in Cumberland County. 

Still running after all these years, many improvements have taken place since 2000, including the addition of 3 waterslides, new deckwork, railings and sidewalks. 

Cool off at the hottest place to be this summer, the Boiling Springs Pool!  We are ready to give your family the best mini-vacation the area can offer.  Nice lawns, sun or shade, relaxing, soothing pools – or exciting and wild slides!

We also have a full service snack bar serving nachos to hamburgers, cheese steaks to chicken parm subs, french fries and chicken strips.  Sodas, ice teas, fruit punch… Ice cream, slushies and candy.

Nightmare and Daydream!  Zip down our enclosed 130 foot speed slide.  Head into the dark, zoom through the tube and splash into the light.  Can you keep your eyes open?  Or – cruise into the corners gaining speed as you go, on our 220 foot long open water slide.

A variety of swimming pools!  Cool off in one of our 4 pools.  A 1 foot deep wading pool for the small kids, two intermediate pools with sun and varying depths, and our 150 foot long pool with another 90 foot long water slide at the west end.

CHILDREN’S LAKE TO BE DRAWN DOWN

Boiling Springs, PA – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will begin lowering the water level at Children’s Lake in Cumberland County on October 1. The water level will be drawn down 3 feet to allow a weir to be constructed in the old mill race. The mill race is located on the southwest end of the lake below the arched bridge. While the lake is lowered, additional grounds improvements will be completed.

Children’s Lake is a 6-acre Fish and Boat Commission impoundment located in historic Boiling Springs, Pa. Historic structures from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, such as a gristmill, still line the lakeshore. The Lake and its surrounding lands provide fishing, boating, hiking and other recreational opportunities to visitors and local residents.

Mayapple Village is a diverse community that provides a variety of residential styles within its bounds.  More than 180 Mayapple Village homeowners live in single family homes found along Derbyshire Drive, patio homes on Kitszell Drive, townhouses on Liberty Court, and in the condominiums of Meadowridge East and West.  This planned community is integrated within the Mayapple Golf Links. Residents may patronize the golf course and club house, of course, but it is not an official part of Mayapple Village.  Mayapple Village is located within the boundaries of South Middleton Township and the larger confines of Cumberland County, in south central Pennsylvania.

May and June can be hit or miss.  May is definitely nice, cool (not cold)… very spring like normally.  June is different – sometimes it is hot, last year was cold and rainy.  Can’t predict that one.

The pool opens on Memorial Day weekend and is only open on weekends until school lets out (around the 10th of June)

Boiling Springs, at the Yellow Breeches, is one of the best fly fishing areas in the country.   There is an anglers shop (Yellow Breeches Outfitters) at one end of the Children’s Lake and they probably have more information.

Allenberry is 1/4 mile from the Lake.  In addition to Allenberry there are 2 more B&B’s right on Front Street, the Garmanhaus and Gelina’s Manor.

I don’t know of many great things for a toddler to do in Boiling Springs, since the fishing really lends itself to an older tourist population.  The pool is nice – but he probably can’t ride the slides, so you are limited.

Hershey and Dutch Wonderland are about 45 minutes away.  Dutch Wonderland would be great for him – I am sure.  Watch the schedule for open dates and times.  May is tricky.

Hershey Park may or may not be too old for him.  They have kids rides and there is a waterpark section as well that he may be able to use, but for the price – I have to feel that the older the better.

As far as restaurants, Allenberry has two, the Boiling Springs Tavern is right across from the lake (fine dining, dinners at around $20), and Anile’s is a Italian pizza/sub shop – really great food there as well.

Other than that – Boiling Springs is small, quaint, quiet, nice scenery, but not so much the ‘place to be for exciting things’… not to knock the town – but exciting is not the key.  Quiet and relaxing is more the pace.
